Initially Lynn was trained as a classical Dancer receiving honours in all her Classical and Spanish dance examinations in 1986 she graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts at Edith Cowin University (WAAPA) receiving “The Robert Finlay Dance Award” for top achievement in her year of study, Lynn then followed her love of Spanish dance,travelling to Madrid on numerous extended study trips to become one of the first Australians founding members of Danza Viva Spanish dance company (Artistic director Deanna Blatcher)working on and off with the company for over 15 years. Lynn has remained passionate about Spanish dance and has worked in the industry as a Spanish dancer, teacher and choreographer for over 35 years.
Lynn has received numerous grants from the State Government, Audance WA and MACWA and was awarded the 2007 West Australian Dance Award for “Outstanding Achievement in Community Dance” by Ausdance WA.
Lynn has studied, performed and Taught in London, Spain,Johannesburg ,China, Singapore and Australia. Some of her world-renowned teachers include Eloy Pericet, Victoria Eugenia, Paco Romero, Mercedes Y Albano, Antonio Alonso, Juanjo Linares, Maria Magdalena, Antonio Gardes, Ciro, El Guito, Miguel Espino, Angel Munoz, Goyo Montero, Inmaculada Ortega, Virginia Dominguez, Paloma Gomez,Celia par Martinez, Dame’s Marina Keet, Rhoda Rivkind ,Mavis Becker and Deanna Blatcher.
Lynn is joining us at Miraflores to facilitate a Pilates and Miofacial release class.
Over the last 15 years Lynn has gained her personal training certificate with the Institute of Sport WA and has furthered her training as a Pilates instructor learning from The Australian Pilates Method(APMA) The Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates institute (APPI) Art of Motion and Anatomy Trains.
She owns her own Dance and Movement Centre- Estudio Nuevo were she runs Pilates Mat classes and Is the Head of Spanish dance department at The prestigious Ballet school “The Charlesworth Ballet Institute” where she also has a fully equipped Pilates rehab centre helping the dancers of the school with extra personal development and training.
